TakeHelm through your doctor

Your care team’s plan, with you every day between visits.

TakeHelm is a health assistant from your doctor’s practice. It knows your care team’s plan and helps you follow through between visits, connecting your fitness, nutrition, labs and wearables so you know what matters now and what to do next.

Your dashboard

A powerful way to put your care plan into practice.

Every day starts with what matters most: today’s priority, your plan for the day, new results explained, a weekly check-in, and the agenda for your next visit.

Connected health context

Your health makes more sense when the pieces connect.

TakeHelm brings together guidance from your care team, your health history and the data you choose to share. Every answer and weekly check-in draws on your labs, genetics, nutrition, fitness, recovery and progress, not one isolated number.

TakeHelm

Connected context, centered on you.

Every answer, check-in and progress view draws on your care team’s guidance and the information you choose to connect.

Nutrition · from your care team

A nutrition plan that fits your life.

Your care team sets the targets. You tell TakeHelm how you actually eat: your meals, your routine, the foods you like and how much time you have to cook. TakeHelm builds a plan with sample days that fits both, and shows how your week is tracking.

  • Your care team’s targets and instructions stay at the center.
  • Meals built around your routine, tastes and cooking time.
  • See which nutrients are on track across the week.

Fitness · built around you

A fitness plan you can actually follow.

TakeHelm builds your exercise plan around your goals, the equipment you have and the time you can give it, and folds in your care team’s recommendations.

  • Strength, cardio and mobility in one practical week.
  • Your care team’s recommendations and any exercise prescription come first.
  • Supported fitness apps and wearables add optional activity and recovery context.

Before your next visit

Walk into every visit with your questions ready.

Questions come up between appointments. Add them to your agenda as they do, and TakeHelm keeps them together for your care team to review before you’re in the room.

  • Add a topic any time, or let TakeHelm add one when a question needs your team.
  • Each topic notes who it’s for, such as primary care or nutrition.
  • Nothing gets forgotten between visits.

Questions and clinical judgment

Ask TakeHelm. It already knows you.

Your plan, labs, genetics, supplements, nutrition, fitness and progress can all inform one answer. When the next step needs clinical judgment, TakeHelm says so, and you decide how to bring in your care team.

Answers that connect the dots.

Bring in your care team when it’s clinical.

Add it to your next visit’s agenda, or have TakeHelm send your team a portal message for you. Nothing is sent until you say so.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

How do I get started?

Select Get started and enter the email address your practice has on file for you. If your profile is ready, you’ll be guided in. If it’s still being prepared, your care team will follow up. If your practice sent you a TakeHelm link, you can use that instead.

Does TakeHelm replace my care team?

No. Your care team remains the source of your care and clinical judgment. TakeHelm helps carry their guidance into the week, explains the context around it, and keeps your progress organized.

Does this cost me anything?

Your practice decides how TakeHelm is offered, and many include it in membership. If you’re not sure, ask your care team.

Do I need a wearable?

No. TakeHelm works without one. If you already use a supported device, connecting it adds context about movement, sleep and recovery. Supported smart scales add body-composition trends.

Does connecting a wearable mean my care team is monitoring it?

No. Connecting makes supported readings available in TakeHelm. That does not mean someone has reviewed them, is continuously monitoring them, or will receive an alert. For medical concerns, contact your practice through your usual care channels.

What can I ask TakeHelm?

Ask about guidance from your care team, labs, nutrition, fitness, supplements, priorities and progress. TakeHelm answers in the context of everything it knows about you. Don’t use it for emergencies or urgent medical care.

Who can see my information?

Only you and the providers on your care team can view your individual health information. Your information is protected under HIPAA using encryption and access controls. It is not sold or used for targeted advertising. The Privacy Policy linked below describes this in full.

Can I use TakeHelm on my phone?

Coaching by iMessage isn’t offered when you get TakeHelm through your doctor, because iMessage isn’t HIPAA-compliant. You can use TakeHelm at takehelm.io from your phone’s browser, with no download required, and a dedicated mobile app is in the works.

My email didn’t work.

Use the exact address your practice has on file. If it still doesn’t work, contact your care team through your patient portal and they can sort it out.

What if I have an urgent medical concern?

Don’t wait for TakeHelm. Follow your care team’s urgent-care instructions, and call 911 in an emergency.
